Crescent Camp 12 PBC 23: HOLDERS PRESENTATION Brothers, Cork, breezed into the final when they proved too strong for Crescent in the semi-final of the Munster schools senior cup at Thomond Park yesterday.

On top in most departments in the second half, PBC had the ideal start when Stephen Dinan kicked a penalty after only three minutes.

Ten minutes later Crescent went in front when flanker Padraic Ryan scored the opening try and when Dinan saw a penalty come back off a post it was a confidence boost for the Limerick side.

But a try by Paul Derham a minute before the interval, converted by Dinan, had Pres in front 10-5 at the interval.

The second half was a far more entertaining period during which PBC scored two more tries.

The first came after only four minutes of the restart when Rory Caplice touched down and victory was assured when Rory Scannell went over.

Just at the end Crescent had compensation for their efforts when outhalf Larry Hanley scored his side’s second try which he also converted.

PBC had Killian Kingston sinbinned after 65 minutes but it was too late for Crescent to capitalise.

Fittingly, PBC had the final say when Dinan finished as he started by kicking a penalty.

Rockwell College 13 CBC Cork 9:FOR THE third year in a row Rockwell are through to the Munster Schools Senior Cup final.

And, having lost to PBC and CBC in the last two deciders, they will be hoping to make it third time lucky when they again face Pres in the final in Cork on St Patrick’s day.

At Clanwilliam on Saturday Rockwell had to work very hard for their win after it was 6-6 at the interval.

Darragh McNamara landed a penalty for CBC after nine minutes but Brian Haugh levelled with a Rockwell penalty after 22 minutes and he edged his side in front with another successful strike three minutes before the interval.

However, there was still time for McNamara to land his second penalty for CBC and he kicked a third after 43 minutes.

The only try, and a somewhat controversial one, came after 49 minutes when Rockwell’s outstanding number 8 broke from a scrum on the 22 and raced in for a touchdown that Haugh converted.
