Jockey Jimmy Quinn's riding future in Hong Kong appears to be in doubt after his licence to ride in the former colony was withdrawn yesterday.

The Co Wexford-born rider was summoned to the headquarters of the Hong Kong Jockey Club yesterday morning following the vandalisation on Sunday of a car belonging to trainer Brian Kan, who had sacked Quinn as his stable jockey earlier in the season.

The attack occurred within the Sha Tin residential quarters for trainers and jockeys and was caught on camera. It included the destruction of a car radio.

The HKJC announced that due to "misconduct" the jockey's licence had been withdrawn until July 1st, the end of the Hong Kong racing season.

Quinn was given the job of stable jockey to Kan last September.

However, Kan had informed the HKJC that the partnership was at an end earlier this year.

Quinn had continued to ride in a freelance capacity and has partnered a total of 24 winners during his spell there.
