Scottish League round-up:Hibernian fought out a 1-1 draw with Hearts in a pulsating Edinburgh derby at Easter Road in the Scottish Premier League yesterday.

Hibs took a first-half lead when captain Rob Jones stabbed in a close-range shot which took a deflection off defender Christophe Berra following a corner by Portuguese winger Filipe Morais on 18 minutes.

A minute from the interval Steven Fletcher could have doubled the advantage when he ran through on goal and was one-on-one with goalkeeper Anthony Basso.

The Frenchman stayed on his feet, however, and clawed down the Hibs midfielder's chipped shot.

Hearts levelled 46 seconds into the second half with another untidy goal when French striker Christian Nade used his knee to bundle the ball into the net.

Reigning champions Celtic maintained top slot in the Premier Division standings with a 2-1 win at Kilmarnock on Saturday thanks to a double from Australian striker Scott McDonald.

They have 28 points from 12 games, three clear of rivals Rangers who won 2-0 at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle with a goal in each half from Kris Boyd and Nacho Novo.

Hibernian moved into third place on goal difference after yesterday's draw ahead of Dundee United who also have 22 points from 12 games after their 2-0 defeat at Aberdeen.

United ended the match with nine men after Barry Robson was sent off in the 80th minute and Lee Wilkie was dismissed in stoppage time.

Falkirk beat Gretna 2-0 while Motherwell and St Mirren slugged out a 1-1 draw.
