IRISH junior internationals Stephen Hood and Mark Campbell both progressed to the last 16 of the British Boys Open golf championship at Littlestone yesterday.
Hood, in his last year as a junior, won a thrilling fourth round match against Scottish international Steven Horne at the second extra hole.
Hood was one up after 15 but lost the 16th to a par four. The players halved the 17th and 18th and the first extra hole, but at the 20th Hood managed to get up and down from a difficult lie at the back of the green while Horne could do no better than a five.
Today Hood takes on Sergio Garcia, the 16 year old Spaniard who is already the senior European boys champion.
Campbell birdied the last hole twice yesterday to defeat Germany's Arne Dickel and Lee Orchard from Dorset. His opponent this morning is England international Ken Ferrie.
