De La Salle, Macroom 1-12 St Fachtna's, Skibbereen 1-2:DE LA SALLE, Macroom, showed why they're one of the fancied sides with an impressive win over St Fachtna's at Enniskeane yesterday.
A 1-3 scoring burst inside the opening six minutes sent them on their way, David Horgan supplying the finishing touch to some excellent approach play by Cathal Vaughan and Daniel Twomey for their lone goal.
It helped them lead 1-3 to 0-3 at the break, though Brian O’Driscoll replied with a 45th-minute goal to offer St Fachtna’s some hope, but Macroom’s response was quick and emphatic. The outstanding Vaughan kicked one of four unanswered points as Macroom set-up a mouth-watering semi-final with Chríost Rí.
