RAY Houghton bids to return to the top level of English soccer when he captains Crystal Palace against Leicester at Wembley today, with a place in the Premiership at stake.
Houghton said: "When I joined the club 14 months ago I had probably played at Wembley more than Selhurst Park.
"I thought at the start of the season the club was capable of going straight back up. Last year was the only time in my career I had been in a relegated side and it was a huge disappointment.
"The Premiership must be where you want to be, and everyone knows what is at stake against Leicester.
"It is a big occasion and although it is not a cup final, it is more important in that it is the difference between promotion and the first division," added the 34 year old Republic of Ireland international.
. Brazilian World Cup striker Bebeto scored twice for Deportivo Coruna as they drew 2-2 with Barcelona in his final game for the club before his move to Flamengo in his native country.
