SECOND-HALF goals from Darren Bullock and Andy Booth saw off plucky Peterborough to put Huddersfield through to the fifth round of the English FA Cup for the first time since 1972.
The First Division side had huffed and puffed to no effect whatsoever in a quite dreadful opening period.
But suddenly Bullock lifted the atmosphere and pointed the way for a home clash with Premiership Middlesbrough or Wimbledon with a stunning effort in the 52nd minute.
The midfielder exchanged passes with Booth before hammering past goalkeeper Jon Sheffield and into the corner from 2 yards.
After that the shackles were off and, with winger Paul Dalton terrorising the Peterborough right flank, the second had to come.
It duly did - 16 minutes from time. Dalton skipped to the dead-ball line before crossing and, while Sheffield saved Booth's header, the England Under-21 striker coolly converted the rebound for his 13th goal of the season but his first of 1996.
Huddersfield's lack of imagination was sufficient reason for the chorus of interval boos.
Their second-half display made a mockery of their lacklustre opening against a side unbeaten in this corner of West Yorkshire since joining the Football League in 1960.
Undersoil heating at the state of heart Alfred McAlpine Stadium meant that there was only a light dusting of snow - but a dreadful first 45 minutes made the expenditure seem wasted.
