ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE:Former Republic of Ireland assistant manager Chris Hughton has been confirmed as the new manager of Norwich City.
The 53-year-old replaces Paul Lambert at Carrow Road, following the Scot’s decision to leave for Aston Villa.
Hughton, who won 53 caps for the Republic of Ireland, was in charge at Birmingham but had been granted permission by the Championship side to speak to Norwich.
His first priority will be to convince top scorer Grant Holt to stay with Norwich.
