Waterford 0-11 Tipperary 0-9:WATERFORD ARE through to the semi-finals of the McGrath Cup after a two point win over Tipperary in Walsh Park yesterday.

Tipperary started the game very strongly and with Barry Grogan looking very dangerous, they raced into an early three-point lead. However, Waterford soon settled down and with corner-forward Seán Fleming very prominent, they were level after 20 minutes with Kevin Power kicking the first of his three points.

The sides were level until Waterford centre-back Shane Briggs broke upfield to kick a fine point which sent his side in at the break with a one-point lead.

Waterford were the first out of the blocks in the second half with Eamonn Walsh and then Kevin Power scoring to extend their lead to three points.
