BOXING: The impasse arising from the serious disruption at the weighing scales last week for the National Youths and Boys boxing championships ended at last night's central meeting of the IABA, when it was decided to go ahead with the championships on Easter Monday.

The protesters who objected to the boxers signing up to a waiver at the weighing scales last week are to be dealt with by a special meeting of the disciplinary committee.

Meanwhile, IBF light-welterweight champion Ricky Hatton is to surrender his title after refusing to fulfil his mandatory defence against Ben Rabbah.

The Manchester boxer, who won the belt after beating Kostya Tszyu last summer, is stepping up a weight to take on bigger names and feels Rabbah just does not cut it as a worthy opponent.
