Iktitaf has made big impression

Charlie Swan's Leopardstown Tips: 12

Charlie Swan's Leopardstown Tips:12.25: Heez A Wonder did us a good turn in this race last year and if he is supported in the betting again, I would be afraid of him because he still looks well handicapped. My only runner of the day, Royal Man, is still only five and possibly only has an each way chance, so on the ground maybe Chelsea Harbour looks a better bet.

Selection: Chelsea Harbour

12.55: I was very impressed with Eagle's Pass when he absolutely bolted up at Thurles. It was his first start over jumps but in a funny kind of race, where lots of them have chances on their best form, I'll stay with the most inexperienced horse.

Selection: Eagle's Pass

1.25: Alexander Taipan was only just beaten by Toofarback at Punchestown and that looks the best piece of form in this race. Some of the others that finished behind him that day might finish closer and Clew Bay Cove may be the danger. But Willie Mullins's horse will do me.

Selection: Alexander Taipan

1.55: Brave Inca is always tough to beat but I'm going to go with the up-and-coming Iktitaf. I've been very impressed with him and he looks one that must have a great chance in the Champion Hurdle. It might pay to back him for Cheltenham before today's race. I see Tony McCoy isn't on Brave Inca but I wouldn't worry about that. Ruby Walsh is good on every horse.

Selection: Iktitaf

2.25: Blazing Sky is the highest rated horse and even though Grapevine Sally has won her last two, she has almost two stone to find with Blazing Sky. Unless the handicapper has got it badly wrong, that will be a very hard task for Edward O'Grady's mare.

Selection: Blazing Sky

2.55: Black Harry would be one to look out for if he started showing some of his bumper form. He's had a couple of runs over hurdles so should be better at the jumping game but he still has a hard job on his plate against Arrive Sir Clive. Virginia Preuil is another each-way chance.

Selection: Arrive Sir Clive

3.25: Gary Brady should have improved for his first run at Gowran.

Selection: Gary Brady
