DORANS PRIDE had no difficulty landing the odds and following up his Limerick debut success over fences in the Irish Field Novices' Chase at Punchestown yesterday.
Always travelling strongly for Shane Broderick, the 1 to 2 favourite was never really challenged by his only market rival The Subbie and could afford to fiddle the last and still romp home by 11 lengths.
Sent to the front after five out by Broderick, Dorans Pride quickened effortlessly and was error free as he proceeded to extend his winning sequence for trainer Michael Hourigan.
"He'll be even better jumping off a faster pace and we are definitely heading now to Fairyhouse for the Chiquita Drinmore Chase on December 1st," said Hourigan.
Tom Foley confirmed that Danoli was on target for the Quinns of Naas Chase over two miles at Naas next Saturday.
"He is in good form after his win at Clonmel and there is a chance Tom Treacy will be fit in time for Naas as he has some ligament damage rather than a broken collarbone after Clonmel," added the trainer.
Private Peace, trained by Aidan O'Brien, failed to land the odds in the Elverstown Novice Hurdle. A 1 to 3 favourite, Private Peace went down by three-quarters of a length to the improving Gallopen Garry, trained by Sean O'Brien, who at 20, is the youngest trainer in the country. Private Peace was later found to be coughing.
Sean O'Brien completed a double when Be My Pleasure, whom he also rode, won the Baron's Bog Flat Race.
Gareth Cotter, two weeks short of his 20th birthday, landed a fine double when winning the Burtown Wood Handicap Chase on Kawa-Kawa and the Narraghmore Handicap Chase on Quattro.
