Liam Tilley is a huge fan of Dr John Douilard's book, Body, Mind and Sport. The Kilcock member attributes the fact that he lost six shots off his handicap (from 18 to 12) to one chapter in the book, "Getting in the Zone". It all started when Tilley shot a brilliant 66 in the opening round of the Captain's (Gerry McConnell) Prize and he followed with a 64 on the final day. He won by three shots from Noel Lally and Eddie Prendergast. He went on to win the June Medal - he shot a 65 - and the Lady Captain's (Annette McGee) prize to the men, scorching around the Kilcock course in a remarkable 77 gross for 44 points.
