Ingonish was yesterday the subject of a sizeable off-course market move for the Weatherbys Festival Bumper at Cheltenham.
Coral were forced to half his odds to 12 to 1 from 25 to 1 after laying several three-figure bets on the Noel Meade-trained runner.
"Ingonish has been backed by several of our most well-informed customers and we had little hesitation in taking the scissors to his Cheltenham odds," said Coral spokesman Simon Clare.
Ingonish beat Miners Run on his debut at Fairyhouse at the end of December and on his only other start was awarded the race after finishing a short head behind the Christy Roche-trained Billywill at Leopardstown at Christmas.
Coral betting: 6-1 Alexander Prize, Golden Alpha, Biliverdin, 8-1 Give It A Holly, 12-1 Ingonish (from 25-1), 14-1 Mr Lamb, Kildash Castle, 16-1 bar
There was a real buzz from the Godolphin grapevine yesterday, with two of the organisation's Classic hopes the subject of mighty gambles.
A flurry of action in the morning morning saw Iftitah's Sagitta 2,000 Guineas odds cut by both Corals (8-1 from 12-1) and the Tote (7-1 from 12-1).
Adair, a 33 to 1 shot with Ladbrokes on Friday for the Vodafone Derby, saw his odds cut from the morning's offer of 20 to 1 to 14s with the firm.
French Holly, second favourite for the Smurfit Champion Hurdle, pleased trainer Ferdy Murphy in a workout after racing at Newcastle yesterday.
Murphy said afterwards: "French Holly is on course for Cheltenham, he is taking a blow but he has come and done exactly the same as he did last year. Two more bits of work and he will be right."
