Tipperary have made one enforced change to the team that defeated Clare for Sunday's Munster hurling final against Limerick at Pβirc U∅ Chaoimh. Conor Gleeson misses out because of a hand injury that will keep him out for a few more weeks. He sustained the injury in a challenge against Kilmallock earlier in the month and had to undergo surgery.

David Kennedy takes his place on the team while Aidan Butler has returned to the panel after some excellent club form.

The switch necessitates some shuffling of the team but it is along expected lines. There had been some pressure on Gleeson's place anyway after he was substituted in the semi-final against Clare.

Kennedy, the team's regular centre back before injury, made a big impression when returning to the team as a replacement in the same match. This allowed Eamonn Corcoran to return to the wing and Paul Kelly move up to midfield, where he made a significant contribution.

There are only three survivors from the starting line-up that faced Limerick the last time the sides met four years ago. Brendan Cummins, Declan Ryan and Tommy Dunne remain, although only Cummins retains the same position. Limerick, who have been through a very visible rebuilding programme, are likely to have five survivors of that fixture which Tipperary won 1-20 to 0-13.
