Inspection at Roscommon

RACING AT Roscommon is dependent on a 8

RACING AT Roscommon is dependent on a 8.30am inspection and one man hoping it gets the green light is Curragh trainer Michael Grassick, who has Silver Tide in the fillies handicap, writes Brian O'Connor.

Grassick has booked John Murtagh for the ride and the partnership hooked up to good effect at Tipperary last Thursday with Divinitus.

Silver Tide should have no problem with testing ground conditions judged on a fourth to Mary From Murroe at the Curragh nine days ago and that could be vital today.

The Roscommon track was raceable yesterday but the ground was also officially heavy and an inspection has been called due to a poor weather forecast. Murtagh can also score in the seven furlong handicap with the Naas winner Harriers Call but he is at Roscommon principally to ride Love To Dance in the fillies maiden for Aidan O'Brien and that plan may come unstuck. The 90-rated three-year-old has had plenty of chances and if Zariziyna can improve from her Gowran debut she may have to scope to win.
