INTERNAZIONALE recovered from losing both the UEFA Cup final and English manager Rob Hodgson in less than a week, to defeat Napoli 3-2 yesterday and keep alive their faint hopes of a place in the European Cup.

But relief came only after England midfielder Paul Ince had threatened to add to Inter's woes with an own goal 31 minutes into the first half.

Ince made amends with a 50th minute equaliser before Chile's Ivan Zamorano and France's Your Djorkaeff scored the goals that clinched a morale boosting victory.

The three points keep Inter just two points behind second placed Parma, who defeated Bologna with a goal from Enrico Chiesa.
