AFTER THE great racing provided by the top men last week there is a contrasting programme this weekend. First category licence holders are excluded from the three day event at Dunboyne and that area of Co Meath will be a hive of activity with stage races at opposite ends of the scale for veterans and under 12, 14 and 16.

The first category men have just the Joe Kelly memorial criterium in Carrick on Suir tomorrow evening (7.30) with the Tour of Galway on Sunday and an Apollo handicap at Lurgan.

The Eagle club's three day race at Dunboyne is for second category, juniors, veterans and women but although the Obelisk Wheelers underage promotion is listed in the FIC handbook for only under 16s, Gerry Kinsella is catering for the first time for the under 14 and 12 groups as well.

Signing on is at the Mill House, Clonee and there will be a time trial on Sunday morning, 11.0 a.m., with road races for the three categories from 3.0 p.m. The final stages get under way at noon on Monday.
