Bohemians 4 Dublin City 0: Embellished by two goals from Glen Crowe, Bohemians confirmed their qualification for Europe, though it's the Intertoto Cup Gareth Farrelly's side will play in next season; Drogheda's defeat to Cork City deprived Bohemians of challenging the latter for a UEFA Cup spot when they travel to Turner's Cross next Friday.

With only two recognised defenders in his team, Dermot Keely's patchwork Vikings nonetheless took the game to Bohemians from the start and might have stolen the lead within three minutes when Matt Gregg spilled a cross from Peter Hynes with Dave Morrison having to clear.

That was an early scare Bohemians heeded and they took control to take the lead on 12 minutes.

Dublin City left-back Keith Rowland misjudged the flight of a Stephen Rice ball down the right to put Crowe to the end line. His pull back was driven to the roof of the net by Stephen Caffrey.

Dublin lifted the siege with a cameo appearance at the other end just past the half-hour mark with Marc Kenny having a shot deflected out for their first corner of the night while Gary O'Neill blazed a shot over the bar after making good space for himself.

That counted for nought as Bohemians all too easily increased their lead with a textbook strike on 38 minutes.

Tony Grant got to the end line down the left to cross for strike partner Crowe to score with a downward header.

Crowe should have scored again on the blow of half-time but this time planted a header from Ryan's free-kick just wide off the near post.

But Crowe got in behind Dean Brennan to run on and finish with aplomb for Bohemians' killer third goal on 62 minutes.

Dublin defender Robbie Farrell was dismissed on 76 minutes after he prevented Crowe going through for his hat-trick.

O'Neill later missed a sitter while Cathal O'Connor had a good shot stopped on the line by Gregg as Vikings' late flurry failed to bring the deserved reward of a goal.

Winger Ryan then added Bohemians' fourth goal, the best of the night, with a terrific strike to the top corner in the final minute of the game.
