GOLF:IRELAND Boys hold a two-point advantage going into today's second round of singles matches against their Welsh counterparts at Cardigan. The visitors lead 7-5 at the halfway stage of the two-day competition following an impressive start in the opening singles on the west Wales coast.
The Irish youngsters lost just two of the eight clashes, winning five and picking up a half in another before the afternoon’s quartet of foursomes. Wales did recover somewhat and secured two-and-a-half of the four points on offer to close the gap ahead of the eight remaining singles encounters today.
