Golf:Ireland are just one step away from retaining their Senior Home Internationals title after a 5.5-3.5 win over England at Westport Golf Club today.
They followed up yesterday’s win over Wales with a battling victory over England today and face an unbeaten Scotland in tomorrow’s title showdown.
Ireland lost two of the three singles and appeared to be in trouble when Tom Cleary was beat 6 and 5 by Andrew Carman.
However, the Irish fight back emerged when Adrian Morrow, Hugh Smyth and Michael Quirke all won before the icing on the cake came when Seamus McParland won three of the last four holes to defeat Chris Reynolds.
