ACT Schools, who had beaten the Welsh and Scottish Schools on 1their last tours to Australia, proved to be no match for the Ireland Schools at the Manuka Oval in Canberra yesterday.
In recording their sixth successive victory, Ireland Schools ran in six tries, compared to two by the opposition, the second scored late in the game.
Outside half Bryn Cunningham landed three conversion and three penalty goals, and Brian O'Mahony, who replaced him to minutes from time, also added a conversion.
Scrum half Ciaran Scally scored a hat trick of tries, lock Peter Bracken got over for two and left wing Rory Collins grabbed Ireland's sixth, for the final score of the match.
ACT led briefly by 10-7 after 17 minutes, but from then on the Irish never looked back and were ahead by 10-20 at half time.
The tourists now have a week off before the seventh game of their nine match tour, which will be against Victoria Schools in Melbourne next Wednesday.
"I'm delighted that the team has reached its mid tour break undefeated and that we have no injury problems," said coach Keith Patton.
