DIGEST/RUGBY:Ireland produced a final-quarter surge with tries from Fergus McFadden and Vasya Artemiev to beat England 21-10 in a universities international at Donnybrook yesterday.
Outhalf Rob Cook kicked England into a 13th-minute lead but fullback Michael Hastings responded with a try. Munster's Jeremy Manning converted to make it 7-3 on 28 minutes. Mark Siddons claimed a try at the end of a lineout maul and Cook converted to make it 10-7 at the interval for the English side.
A sweeping move that started when Barry O'Mahony stole ball on the ground was finished by centre McFadden. Manning converted for 14-10.
Artemiev provided the third try from short range to close out the match.
