PGA CUP: It may not quite be Mission Impossible, but Ireland's two representatives, John Dwyer and Brendan McGovern - part of the 10-man team of top British and Irish golfers in the United States this week - know how big a task they face.
They're taking part in the prestigious PGA Cup at Port St Lucie, Florida, the club professionals' version of the Ryder Cup, which begins this day week. The non-playing team captain is 55-year-old David Jones from Bangor, Co Down.
Brendan and John, both from Meath (the former at Headfort, Dwyer at Ashbourne) are only too well aware of the odds against a win - the USA have 13 victories to just four by Britain and Ireland.
BRITAIN & IRELAND TEAM (in order of qualifying): Bob Cameron (Bromley), John Dwyer (Ashbourne, Co Meath), Graeme Bell (Teeside), Andrew Hare (Northampton), Paul Wesselingh (Derby), Robert Arnott (Scotland), Bill Longmuir (London GC), Simon Edwards (Wrexham), Brendan McGovern (Headfort, Co Meath), Gordon Law (Scotland).
