It seems ludicrous given the huge motorcycling talent Ireland has produced over the years, there has never been an Irish team operating on the glamorous international circuit. Finally an Irish outfit are following in the tyre tracks of Eddie Jordan's motor racing team by kicking their way onto the international Superbike stage.
Team Ireland Racing propose to race in the British and Spanish Championships this year and within three years become a major force in Europe. The team will select young riders from both sides of the Border and aspire to become the breeding ground for Irish racers to progress. Woosley Coulter (33), and Martin Finnegan (21), will be the two riders to kick-start the enterprise. On talent alone this one could go far.
