DONAL O'HALLORAN and Michael O'Meara continued to weld their new international doubles partnership when they won through the world badminton championship qualifying rounds in Glasgow yesterday.

The Irish pair upset the rankings as they came from behind to beat Iceland's Njordur Ludvigsson and Tryggvi Nielsen 14-17 15-8 15-4.

"We needed to attack arid control the match from the start. And we didn't do that," said O'Meara, explaining the turn around, "but when I got my service game going in the second, and we got a run of points, that was it."
