Colm Moriarty is tied for 20th place at El Bosque in the race for one of the 31 places available in next week's final. Ciarán McMonagle is tied for 28th place at Emporda GC where 29 players will qualify while Raymond Burns has yet to finish his third round at Oliva Nova GC after flooding put a halt to the day's play.

Tim Rice is best placed of the other Irish players in the 253-strong field. The Limerick player is in 37th place at El Bosque on 213 with Eamonn Brady (50) on 215 while Justin Kehoe (81) on 223 missed the cut.

At Emporda Golf Club, there are 31 players currently on four under par or better, ensuring a tense final day for those players on or around the four under mark, with 32 players between six under and two under par.

Denmark's Brian Akstrup, Scotsman Euan Little and Paul Marantz of Australia, however, look to be safe in their positions at the top of the leaderboard - the three players currently tied on 16 under par 197. A total of 72 players made the three round cut of four over par 217.

There are 31 players on five under par or better at the El Bosque Golf and Country Club, with 29 golfers between seven and three under par. The cut at El Bosque Golf and Country Club - where the English duo of Marcus Higley and Mathew Woods share the lead of 12 under par 204 - was set at three over par 219.

Woods posted a third round 67 for 204 and was joined on that mark by Higley, who also fired a 67.

Welshman Stuart Manley and Moriarty, both members of the victorious Walker Cup team last year, stayed on course to claim one of the qualifying spots up for grabs as they both posted rounds of 70 to share 20th place on 210.

But former English champion Richard Finch, who shared the lead overnight, tumbled back into the melting pot with a damaging 76 which left him tied for 26th on 211.

Round three at the Club de Golf Oliva Nova was incomplete due to flooding and will resume at 8.30 this morning, with the final round not beginning before 10:30.

England's Stuart Little has the clubhouse lead of 10 under par 206 after a second round 67 and leads by four from Wales' two-time European Tour winner Mark Mouland who carded a 70. Ashbourne's John Dwyer is 13th on two under par 214.

SA TOUR: Anton Haig and John Mashego joined Rudy Whitfield in a share of the lead at seven under par 135 after day two at the inaugural MTC Namibian PGA Championship at Windhoek Country Club .

Haig, who at 18 years old is playing in his second Southern Africa PGA Tour event, produced a masterful seven under par 64, while Mashego signed for a 67.

The pair took full advantage of relatively benign morning conditions to set the clubhouse lead at seven under par, before overnight leader Whitfield, playing on a dry and windy afternoon at Windhoek Country Club, managed a one under 70 to book his place in the final threesome.

Ireland's James Loughnane is on 145 after a second-round 71 while Gavin McNeil and Padraig Dooley both missed the cut.

Rounds of 74 and 73 left McNeil just one outside the cut which came at 146 while Dooley was four shots back on 150 after a second round 76.
