Golf: Ireland's wonderful run of success continued today when the men's senior internationals secured the home internationals at Tenby in Wales just two months after they won the European title in Shannon.
Ireland only needed to halve with England in today's final round of matches but ensured glory with an emphatic 6-2 win over the defending champions, while hosts Wales claimed the wooden spoon after a draw with Scotland (4.5-4.5).
The foundations were laid early as Ireland won two of the three morning foursomes. The afternoon singles were a tense affair with three matches being halved.
In the end Michael Coote's 5 and 4 win over former Walker Cup player Geoff King and Liam McNamara's 2 and 1 win over Philip Slater proved crucial.
There wasn't the same positive news for the Irish senior women's team as they claimed the wooden spoon in their international series at Little Aston in Birmingham.
They lost their final match 5.5-2.5 to Scotland as Wales won the overall title to end England's dominance.
