Jonathan Caldwell, Shane Lowry and Paul Culter will represent Ireland in the World Amateur Team Championship (Eisenhower Trophy) to be played in Adelaide, Australia from October 16th-19th.

Caldwell, who played in last year's Walker Cup at Royal County Down, was a member of the Irish team who won back-to-back European Team Championships in Turin this year to go with last year's victory at Western Gailes in Scotland.

Lowry, the current West and North of Ireland champion, has shot up through the world amateur rankings this year. The 2007 Irish Close champion currently occupies fifth spot in the world and regards his role in Ireland's back-to-back European Team Championship titles as being his most memorable moments in golf so far.

Elsewhere Co Sligo's Michael Durcan and Paul Dunne from Greystones departed for Sawgrass in Florida where they will compete in the Junior Players Championship from August 29th-31st.

The tournament, which is run by the American Junior Golf Association and TPC Sawgrass, is only two years old but already has gained a strong reputation. It is a scratch competition open to the top 70 ranked US boys (under-18) and select international invitees. It is also an important recruitment ground for all the US College coaches.

Durcan successfully defended the Connacht boys championship this year and played on the recent winning Ireland Home Internationals team.

Dunne won the Connacht and Ulster Boys under-15 events plus the Wicklow Boys. He too represented Ireland at the Home Internationals and the European Boys Championships.
