Philip Reid has been appointed Golf Correspondent of The Irish Times.

A native of Dublin, Philip studied journalism at the College of Commerce in Rathmines. He joined The Irish Times in 1996 after working for the Irish Press for a number of years, covering golf and GAA. Since 1996, he has reported on all aspects of golf, nationally and internationally for The Irish Times. He also covered the Atlanta Olympics.

Dermot Gilleece has been appointed Golf Editor of The Irish Times. In his new role, he will continue to cover golf, nationally and internationally, as well as being involved in the planning and commissioning for the Tuesday golf pages and golf supplements.
