IAN EVANS'S Irish under-21 trialists were given a more thorough work-out than they might have expected by National League Premier Division side Home Farm-Everton at Whitehall last night.
The under-21s took the lead after 33 minutes, when a Home Farm clearance was headed straight back by Gavin O'Toole and Declan Perkins ran clear to calmly shoot past Brian O'Shea. The lead was short-lived as a fortunate deflection gifted Liam Kelly an equaliser four minutes later. O'Toole's attempted headed clearance struck his team-mate Robert Ryan and the ball dropped kindly for Kelly to shoot home from 15 yards.
Kelly headed his side in front six minutes into the second-half, then, five minutes later, he put his namesake, John Kelly, through to score Home Farm's third.
