RUGBY:FORMER IRISH hooker Bernard Jackman has announced his resignation as head coach of Clontarf to "travel overseas to experience other professional sporting organisations".

Jackman released a statement through Clontarf yesterday stating that he is stepping down with immediate effect

“It’s with regret that I am stepping down from my position of head coach of Clontarf football club with immediate effect,” said the statement.

“Over the last 14 years it has been an absolute privilege for me to have been involved here as a player and a coach.

“Regaining our Division One A status last month was satisfying, but it has also been very rewarding to watch the quality players coming through from the under-20s, which I am confident will benefit the club over the coming seasons.”
