JASON'S BOY is a good bet to win today's Yarrow Handicap Chase at Kelso. Chepstow trainer Milton Bradley does well in his northern raids and it's easy to see why he's embarking on the long journey with just one horse.

Jason's Boy did very well as a novice last season, twice winning at Bangor, latterly when beating Choisty by two and a half lengths, the pair seven lengths clear. That looks reliable form because Choisty has gone on to win two handicaps this term.

Jason's Boy may have had a minor setback because he didn't reappear until the middle of last month, looking backward and finishing 25 lengths fifth to Mr Pickpocket at Taunton.

The seven-year-old then went to Doncaster where he cut out much of the running before weakening in a couple of strides approaching the last and finishing nine lengths second to Over The Pole. That should have put Jason's Boy spot on and he will not find today's opposition too testing.

Cheltenham pointers will be thin on the ground from now on but Lagen Bridge can book his ticket to the Festival by winning the Glen Novices' Hurdle. An Irish import, Lagen Bridge is beginning to look a shrewd acquisition by Cartmel trainer Dudley Moffatt, who has entered him for next week's Royal Sun Alliance Novices' Hurdle.

The grey was then considerably stepped up in class to contest the Grade Two Persian War Novices' Hurdle at Chepstow but lost no caste in defeat.
