LEADING woman jockey Emma O'Gorman remained in hospital yesterday as she recovered from a sickening fall at Newmarket.
She was being detained in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, for observation but her injuries are not thought to be serious.
"First thing this morning I thought they were going to let her out but they are a little bit concerned about her kidneys. Her head, neck and back are OK" said her father, Bill.
"I think she was in pain again this morning but I don't think this will be long term it's nothing horrendous. If she was bleeding they'd have spotted that yesterday."
O'Gorman, 22, was fired to the ground when Simply Times, trained by her father, collapsed and somersaulted in the closing stages of the NGK Spark Plugs Bartlow Maiden Fillies' Stakes.
It took paramedics more than 10 minutes to remove the jockey from under the stricken filly.
The omens had looked bad for Simply Times but after 15 minutes she suddenly rose to her feet after the screens had been put up.
"There was no particularly brilliant explanation for what happened. The filly seems fine," said Bill O'Gorman.
"The way she fell you'd have sworn she had broken at least one leg." The rider's mother admitted "I didn't actually see the incident as I had just stood up to leave.
"Thank goodness the filly was winded and just laid down if she had tried to scramble to her feet she could have done a lot more damage."
