Dean McKeown heads to London today in a bid to win back the mount on leading fancy Marsad in the Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup on Saturday. He will try to get the Jockey Club to overturn a four-day ban.
McKeown is upset that the suspension, handed out for adjudged "careless riding" on Lago di Varano in last Wednesday's Portland Handicap at Doncaster, was imposed in his absence.
"This isn't an appeal - it is the first hearing," he stressed.
"If I let this drop jockeys could start getting days without the chance to give their side of the evidence.
"At the original hearing they only heard from two jockeys but there should be five there tomorrow - myself, Robbie Fitzpatrick, Tim Sprake, Tom McLaughlin and possibly Kieren Fallon."
