Finnish international striker Jonatan Johansson gave England a taste of what they can expect in their World Cup qualifiers with a quality late goal to save Charlton's blushes last night.

Reduced to 10 men by Steve Brown's second-half sending-off and having seen Glenn Hoddle's Southampton take the lead through Marian Pahars's far-post shot 11 minutes from time, Johansson arrived as a substitute to save the day.

Receiving the ball in the area he brilliantly turned Claus Lundekvam and fired a low shot past Neil Moss.
