LEINSTER SCHOOLS' JUNIOR CUP: Replacement winger Jamie Johnston will probably recall this tie at North Kildare for the rest of his life.
Johnston had not seen five minutes of action when he shrugged off three tackles to dive over in the corner for the match-winning try.
The first half belonged to King's Hospital, Harry Murphy landing a 30-metres penalty for a 3-0 half-time lead. That lead quickly became 8-0 when three minutes after the restart scrumhalf Seán Treacy touched down beside the posts.
However, 17 minutes into the second-half Daire Conlon crashed over for a Newbridge try and Johnny Mullen kicked the conversion. That might well have been that had Johnson not intervened to give the Kildare school victory .
