Roy Jones jnr put on a flawless show against David Telesco in New York on Saturday night. In the first boxing event in the 67-year history of Radio City Music Hall, Jones entertained a sell-out crowd by retaining the undisputed light heavyweight title with a unanimous decision.
Boxing's best pound-for-pound fighter danced with the fabled dance troupe an hour before entering the ring, then did a number on the over-matched challenger. One day shy of his 31st birthday, Jones (41-1) showed little rust in winning by the margins of 120-111, 120-108 and 120-106 on the judges' scorecards.
Jones relied on his blazing hand speed and world-class skills to dominate from the outset. After the bout, he revealed he had hurt his left wrist three weeks ago in a motorcycle accident but opted to go through with the fight.
