Connacht Club FC: The Joyce clan from Killererin made a memorable contribution at Tuam Stadium in a one-sided Connacht football semi-final in which Leitrim champions Annaduff were overwhelmed.

Brothers Padraic and Tommy, along with their cousin Nicky, contributed all but one point as the Galway champions took a step closer to their first Connacht title since 1978.

Back then the Killererin challenge was built around midfielder Billy Joyce. He is now the manager and it was his son Nicky who stole the show with his performance from centre forward. He scored a total of 1-7 with all but two points coming from play.

The Galway side led by 1-8 to 0-0 at half-time, with Annaduff's challenge impaired after 25 minutes when Gene Cox was sent off for his second bookable offence.

Tommy Joyce got the opening goal, driving home a penalty after 21 minutes when Paul Miskell was pulled down.

Annaduff needed a good start to the second-half but within five minutes Nicky Joyce fisted home a goal which effectively ended the game as a contest.
