European Leagues: Serie A leaders Juventus got their title charge back on track with a 2-1 win over fourth-placed Udinese in Turin yesterday.

The result gave Juventus 53 points from 24 matches, two points ahead of champions AC Milan, who beat Reggina yesterday thanks to a 39th-minute own goal from Marco Zamboni.

Juventus' cushion at the top had been slashed from eight points to two after they lost their previous two matches against Sampdoria and Bologna.

With less than a minute gone, Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his 10th goal of the season.

Udinese's hopes of pulling themselves into the match were dented soon after the break when Mauro Camoranesi lashed a left-foot drive into the top corner after a neat one-two with Alessandro Del Piero.

David Di Michele grabbed a late goal for Udinese with less than a minute to play.

Udinese's one consolation was the failure of fifth-placed Sampdoria to take advantage of their defeat.

Sampdoria had won their previous three games on the road, including a victory over Juventus, but their form deserted them as they went down 1-0 at Livorno with Cristiano Lucarelli scoring the winner.

SPAIN: Michael Owen scored yet again from the substitutes' bench for Real Madrid as the side from the Spanish capital beat Osasuna 2-1.

Owen hinted yesterday that he may be forced to return to England in order to play regular first-team football, but he showed no sign of discontent as he scored with his first touch to equalise.

Roberto Carlos' free-kick was parried and, when Raul's shot was also saved, Owen was on hand to plant a diving header into the net.

It was Owen's 12th goal for Real in 24 appearances in the white shirt, and proved the catalyst for a comeback as Ivan Helguera grabbed the winner.

Sevilla moved up to third place in the Primera Liga after a double from Julio Baptista helped them to a 2-1 win at home to Villarreal.

Barcelona showed no sign of loosening their grip on top spot when they overpowered Real Zaragoza 4-1 at La Romareda on Saturday, leading scorer Samuel Eto'o taking his tally for the season to 17 goals with a coolly taken first-half strike.

In last night's late game, ninth-placed Athleic Bilbao drew 4-4 with Real Betis, who are four places higher in the table.

SCOTLAND: Craig Bellamy's hopes of making his Celtic debut have again been put on hold after their Scottish Premier League clash at Inverness Caledonian Thistle was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

Bellamy was forced to miss last week's Scottish Cup victory at Dunfermline over fears the controversial plastic pitch could trigger his past injury problems.

Rangers moved alongside Celtic at the top of the table with their victory over Hibernian but Celtic still have one match in hand but are behind on goal difference.

Dado Prso scored twice for Rangers at Ibrox and Thomas Buffel got the third in the 3-0 win but Hiberian remain in third place.
