Juventus v Monaco

Juventus head into their European Cup semi-final against Monaco tonight with new found confidence

Juventus head into their European Cup semi-final against Monaco tonight with new found confidence. Their 4-1 Serie A defeat of AC Milan at the weekend gave Marcello Lippi's side a timely boost before their first-leg against the French champions in Turin. Victory over Milan also ensured they enter tonight's match as Italian league leaders after briefly slipping to third place.

Juventus' only real injury worry is Uruguayan defender Paulo Montero, who may miss out with a muscle strain. Right back Gianluca Pessotto and in-form forward Filippo Inzaghi have shaken off minor injuries and are expected to start, as is midfield inspiration Zinedine Zidane, who has recovered form an ankle injury picked up playing for France. Captain Antonio Conte returns from suspension after missing his side's outstanding performance against Milan.

Monaco's attack will be spearheaded by Thierry Henry, who has scored six goals in the competition so far, and David Trezeguet, who grabbed the goal at Old Trafford which knocked out Manchester United.

But defenders Franck Dumas (thigh strain) and Belgian Philippe Leonard (suspended) miss out, as does Scottish midfielder John Collins, also suspended. Goalkeeper Fabien Barthez, who injured a thigh before France's match against Russia last week, is fit.
