Sligo R 1 Bray W 1:SLIGO ROVERS were lucky to escape with a draw in a cracking game at the Showgrounds on Saturday. The league leaders were caught cold four minutes into the second half when a quick Bray break up along the right wing set Jason Byrne up for his 12th goal of the season, the ball going in off the post.

The Seagulls thought they had a penalty after three minutes of the first half when Kieran Marty Watters was fouled after he was put in on goal by John Mulroy but referee Graham Kelly thought otherwise. Then Sligo’s Raffaele Cretaro saw his shot come back off the post in the 25th minute.

Byrne broke the deadlock in the 49th minute but Sligo responded and were rewarded when Alan Keane squared the match in the 62nd minute.

Sligo missed a great chance to win the game in the 90th minute when Danny North missed substitute Pascal Milliens clever ball across the face of goal. Bray finished with 10 men when Adam Mitchell was sent off for a second bookable offence two minutes into stoppage time.
