Skerries Community College 12, St Andrew's College 10:  For the first time in eight attempts Skerries Community College, the winners of the Section A Senior Cup, made it through to the Leinster Section B Cup second round after a titanic struggle with St Andrew's College at Lakelands Park yesterday.

St Andrew's had first use of a strong wind and they built up a 10-0 lead by the break. In the 19th minute number eight Daniel Lewis crossed for a try, the wind preventing Philip Ellis's conversion attempt.

At times Skerries looked as though they would concede more tries, but they held out until the break.

It was a different story after the interval as outhalf Conal Keane, brother of Munster's Killian, looked to use the wind from inside his own half. One minute in, he took out two defenders with a well-delayed pass to centre Colin Cribben who tore through for a great try. Keane converted from out on the left and, in the 51st minute, Skerries were in front. Keane moved the ball left for wing Stephen Donoghue to sprint over for the winning score.
