Dublin 1-10; Antrim 1-10: Conal Keaney, the shining beacon of Dublin hurling, once again made a timely intervention to save them from the abyss of Division Two, for now anyway.

His goal in the sixth minute of injury-time kept alive any hope of staying up.

The supporting cast cannot be faulted for lack of effort but the over-reliance on Keaney and David Curtin is obvious.

Antrim, similarly, also put a huge responsibility on Liam Watson's shoulders but Brian McFall and Paddy Richmond did chip in with vital scores.

Antrim now play Laois (vitally at home) and Kilkenny, while Dublin face Wexford and Offaly.

The Ulster side had victory in their sights when Richmond landed two points in the final two minutes until Keaney's strike.

Dublin had hardly helped their cause by failing to score in the final 11 minutes of normal time.

Antrim tried in vain to disrupt a comeback with some dubious tackling. Karl McKeegan saw red for a second booking after repeatedly punching Carl Meehan. Along with the bruising, Meehan also picked up a yellow card.

From the ensuing play, Tommy Moore felt the full force of Brian McFall's hurl across the mid-driff. Keaney had just seen a 21-yard free stopped by Damien Quinn but he stepped forward once more to level affairs with a clever shot to the corner.

"We had spirit and determination right to the end and we didn't give up," said Dublin manager Humphrey Kelleher.

"Stephen Hiney had a massive amount of ball in the first-half, he won it but he just should've scored points. We just have to learn how to go and flick the balls over the bar from those positions."

Hiney is the less publicised dual-jewel in the capital crown. On Saturday he played a goalscoring role in the under-21 footballers' Leinster semi-final victory over Longford and yesterday he excelled in the unfamiliar role of full forward.

Stephen Perkins also showed up well at full back but it was Curtin's scoring prowess which gave them a 0-6 to 0-5 half-time lead.
