Babs Keating has called for an investigation into the controversial Leinster club senior hurling final between his UCD side and winners James Stephens.
Keating is upset at two points awarded to the Kilkenny champions that he believes were wide. TV coverage, he claims, bears him out.
"If the referee is honest and writes in his report that he genuinely made a mistake then that's discussion for the Leinster Council as far as I'm concerned," Keating said on Newstalk 106 last night.
"If the shoe was on the other foot I promise you that me, Dave Billings and Tony Woodcock would certainly consider offering James Stephens a replay. . . I promise you that.
"I think that Barry Kelly, as a top class refeee, if he doesn't fill out an honest report, I think his credibility is shattered."
Meanwhile, former Meath star Liam Hayes was appointed manager of the Carlow football team last night.
