Malvern trainer Tom Keddy saddled his first Flat winner when Tajar sprang a 50-1 shock in the Lyfaght Amateur Riders Handicap at Chepstow this evening.
Ridden by Jamie Goldstein, the gelding moved swiftly into the lead two out before stretching three lengths clear of Augustan.
"That's my first ever Flat winner as I've only had my duel purpose licence since last October and I've had three winners over hurdles," reported Keddy.
However the trainer moves to new premises next week and he will be in charge of a purpose-built 18 box yard at Alfrick near Worcester and intends having 16 horses for jumping this winter.
Vic Deering was banned for nine days (August 3rd to 11th) for using his whip with excessive frequency on Onemoretime, who finished ninth in the BBC Radio York Elly Fiorentini Selling Handicap at Thirsk yesterday.
