UNDER-21 HURLING/Carlow 1-14 Laois 0-9:A MAJOR upset occurred in the Leinster Under-21 Hurling Championship last night when Carlow got the better of local rivals Laois in Portlaoise.
Paudie Kehoe was the hero for the winners as he produced a five-star performance in the second half for the underdogs.
Laois held a four-point lead at the interval but the tide turned in the second half with Kehoe upsetting the hosts.
Laois were favourites going into this game and everything was going to plan as they were ahead 0-7 to 0-3 at the half-time interval.
But they fell apart in the second half as Carlow upped the tempo.
The winners also got the only goal of the game with a last minute effort from Alan McDonald setting them up with another local clash against Wexford in the semi-final.
