World soccer's governing body FIFA said yesterday they would not be taking any action over the cash-for-votes affair which cost Graham Kelly and Keith Wiseman their jobs with the English Football Association.
Kelly, the FA's former chief executive, and Wiseman, the former chairman, lost their jobs either side of Christmas after they admitted offering the Football Association of Wales grants in return for the Welsh supporting their bid to get Wiseman voted on to FIFA's Executive Committee.
But yesterday FIFA said there was no evidence of any wrongdoing and the affair was closed.
Kelly told BBC radio he was pleased to be cleared. "It feels rather strange, I didn't even know there was an investigation going on, but it's nice to be cleared of it."
