NHL Division Three/Roscommon 1-13 Sligo 0-15:Roscommon claimed the Division Three title when they had one point to spare in an entertaining final at Kingspan Breffni Park yesterday.
The scores were level three times in the opening quarter, at which stage Roscommon where reduced to 14 players - full forward David Loughnane receiving a straight red card after an off-the-ball incident.
Sligo failed to take advantage, however, and led by only one point at half-time - 0-8 to 0-7.
The decisive score came after 58 minutes when Colm Kelly hit the Sligo net. And Sligo suffered another blow a minute later when defender Fiachra Coyne received a second yellow card.
Roscommon then managed to hold on for the win.
