LEINSTER HURLING:THE INJURY suffered by Offaly's David Kenny that resulted in Saturday's Walsh Shield final against Carlow being abandoned at the start of extra-time isn't as serious as was first feared.
Kenny lay motionless on the field for 20 minutes complaining of numbness in one of his arms until an ambulance arrived and took him to Kilkenny hospital.
There he was diagnosed with concussion, but was allowed home later that evening.
Meath won two titles with two-point victories over Wicklow teams at the weekend. At Arklow their hurlers lifted the Kehoe Cup title with a 0-16 to 1-11 victory, while their Vocational Schools team carved out a 0-10 to 0-8 win in the provincial final.
THE Walsh Cup hurling final between Dublin and Kilkenny was postponed due to an unplayable pitch at Parnell Park.
